Whew—what a month it’s been! We’ve been hard at work bringing you valuable insights, organic freeze-dried food, new products and so much more.
Last year, we didn’t send out as many newsletters as we hoped, but this year, we’re committed to doing better. With that commitment comes a fresh start—our newsletter is now - drum roll please - The Homestead Herald !
Oh, and speaking of fresh starts… we’ve also launched a podcast! But you will learn more on that in a minute.
PRODUCT UPDATES
It's hard to believe that as of right now, you have almost 30 products to choose from on our Country Store! This doesn't include animals sponsorships, tours, or many items added during the growing season, but dang, we're still excited and hope you enjoy the variety and new options to choose from.
The great thing about our community is many of these items were requested by you, so we listened and delivered, and now are part of our Country Store, which benefits everyone.
This month alone we added: Candles, baby food, broccoli, onions, mushrooms, cauliflower, honey, and celery. We are beyond excited to announce that very soon, we will be offering freeze-dried meals, meats, and pet treats! Are you drooling yet? If not, maybe your pooch is. You can view all of our new products on our Country Store.
We also created an Essential Oils page that you can browse and order directly from. We are a firm believer in the power of natural healing and after research, testing and personal use, we firmly believe the best quality is doTERRA, which is why we only sell that brand.
Lastly, on many of our popular and staple type products, we have added an option to purchase by subscription. This means you can set it and forget it, and it will be shipped automatically per your quantity and frequency. When ordering via subscription, you automatically save 10%!
If there is an item you would like to have via subscription, please let us know and we will add it! (We cannot add our organic freeze-dried eggs due to quantity levels and super high demand.)
PRIVATE DOMAIN & MEMBERSHIP
Many of you are already valued members of our Private Membership Association, which operates under our Back Forty Farms Ministry, a 508(c)(1)(a) organization. We’re so grateful for your support and for being part of our community, allowing you to enjoy our products and services.
We’ve received a few questions about whether membership is required to make a purchase from our online store, and we want to clarify that, yes, membership is necessary. In order to attend any event on our property, you must be a member as well.
Since January 1, 2025, we have been operating exclusively in the private domain. We truly appreciate your understanding and are always happy to welcome new members!

As part of our "Growing Our Community" culture, we’re thrilled to add the Back Forty Wellness Barn - Online Learning Center to our website. These "Barnside Chats" are video calls aimed at educating, sparking meaningful discussions, and building stronger connections.
Each of these calls are recorded and the audio is replayed as a podcast episode.

BACK FORTY FARMS MUSIC!
We weren't busy enough (cough cough) so we decided to create some music! A couple songs have now progressed into several albums: Spirituality, Family, Farm Life, Patriotic, Animals, Healing and Just For Kids. Likely, there will be more but we really think you will enjoy these songs. We added some to YouTube and a few are really gaining traction.

FAMILY
Our Christmas morning was already filled with love and laughter, but our daughter had one more surprise tucked inside a letter—one so beautifully written and heartfelt that Lisa couldn’t even make it through without tears.
As she read aloud, pausing between sobs, the realization hit us all at once…
We’re going to be grandparents again!
Heather and Skyler are expecting, with their little one due to arrive in late August. Although Ron holds the secret of the baby’s gender, we’ll all find out together on February 2 during our cherished Sunday family dinner.
If this journey is anything like the one we’ve had with our first grandchild, Kennedy, then no words could ever fully capture the joy and gratitude filling our hearts. This kind of love is truly beyond measure.

Whew! That was quite an update—it almost felt like we were writing a year in review, but believe it or not, that was just January!
