We wanted to send out a short newsletter to get you caught up with the happenings here on the farm since our last Herald, in February. To be honest, it's one of the busiest times of the year for us so we have been working sun-up to sun-down.
We have the garden cleaned, prepped and planted. We have a new areas for our corn and new grape vines. We have been picking dandelion flowers, mowing, weeding, burning, trimming trees and getting irrigation on our fields.
We picked up about 135 new baby chicks, laying hens, so our egg production will be even more later in the season and next year. We also have our first batch of meat birds (cornish cross) of 60, with another 60 coming in June. We will have lots of organic chicken meat to eat, and will be freeze-drying it also to sell!
We were featured on the news about our Equine Therapy, which was pretty cool too.
We now have 4 episodes for you to enjoy on our Healthy Homestead Podcast, so be sure to check them out.
Our orchard trees are blossoming and spring is full of growth, life and new beginnings - one of our most favorite seasons.
EXCITING NEWS! We should be having 3-4 new baby calves in May or early June, so stay tuned for baby pics in our next Homestead Herald. In June, we will likely be adding 6 or so pigs to raise too!
We added a couple new songs for our Back Forty Music collection, so check those out too!
We had some amazing discounts and promos on our Country Store and added a couple new bundles and products. Thank you so much for those who took advantage of them.
As you can see, there is a lot going on and with just myself, Lisa and Tony, it's hard to keep up but we are doing our best.
We have also been spoiling our granddaughter Kennedy, which isn't difficult to do.
Below are some photos from the last couple of months, so enjoy!
